Brooklyn Beckham and Chloë Grace Moretz finally went public with their relationship on social media last week after months of are-they-aren’t-they speculation, but it’s not all paradise for the teenage couple.

Speaking in the new issue of InStyle UK, 19-year-old Chloë revealed that the dating world is tough for her in general. Having lived so much of her life in the public eye as a child star, the actress says it’s hard to make genuine connections in her relationships.

“You already know what I look like in a bathing suit. You know what I look like in a sex scene,” she said of her doubts when meeting someone knew.

“You know what I look like when I say ‘I love you’ to someone. You’ve already seen it all.”

She went on, “It creates a mass frenzy.”

Case in point was Chloë’s Santa Monica skating date with 17-year-old Brooklyn back in 2014, the first time the pair were snapped together in public, causing a media meltdown.

The Bad Neighbours 2 actress says it’s difficult to start relationships off organically as everything has to be so calculated.

“[T]hey follow you in separate cars so you can’t just run around and share little silly and cute moments.”

Her verdict on the dating world as a whole? “Horrible and weird.” Yup, we’re inclined to agree sometimes.

As for her not-quite-but-almost Twitter spat with Kim Kardashian a few months back after the reality star posted a nude bathroom selfie to Instagram, Chloë says there’s no bad blood between the pair.

“I’ve never been afraid to have my own voice and to speak my own mind. I wasn’t catty about it,” she says.

“A lot of people came back and said, ‘You’re wrong.’ I was like, ‘You might disagree with me and that’s great. Let’s have a debate.’ At least I believe in something.”
