Demi Lovato Has Recreated The Night Of Her Overdose For Her Latest Music Video
The new track dropped today.
Demi Lovato’s latest music video for her song ‘Dancing With The Devil’ was released today and it documents the night of her overdose. The incident, which happened back in 2018, is something she has often spoken about since and has recreated that night for this new track.
The song has the same name as her YouTube documentary which came out last month, it tells her story of what happened that night, almost three years later. The singer went into more details throughout the doc, revealing that she was just “minutes from death” after taking a concoction of drugs at home, before ambulance crews arrived and saved her life.
The four-part series looks at everything which lead Demi to that near-fatal position she was in, first hand accounts from those who were with her on the night she overdosed, and the implications she now has to deal with following what happened to her.

This new music video also delves into that night, giving fans a more visual and literal representation of what happened to her. Throughout the dramatic video Demi can be seen on a night out with her friends, drinking, dancing and taking shots before meeting her drug dealer on the way home.
After this the singer is shown in bed, unconscious, before being rushed to hospital like she described in her documentary. The song itself also shares a lot about her state of mind at the time with lyrics like; “It’s just a little white line, I’ll be fine/But soon, that little white line is a little glass pipe/Tinfoil remedy, almost got the best of me/I keep praying I don’t reach the end of my lifetime.”
Since her overdose Demi has been consistently upfront in talking about what happened the night she overdosed, including how she got to that dark place as well as her recovery since. From suffering multiple strokes to no longer being able to drive due to blind spots in her vision, Demi is lucky to be alive and is aware that she thankfully, was “given a second chance”.
Demi’s latest album was released today and speaking about the song on Instagram she shared the important message;”#DancingWithTheDevil music video is out now. Thank you for listening, and thank you for hearing me.”
“If you or someone you know is in need of support, please remember it’s ok to ask for help.”
