Netflix has officially begun filming the third season of Bridgerton and we could NOT be MORE excited!!

With production in full bloom and more and more information being teased on the daily, we decided to round together everything we know about the latest instalment of the esteemed period drama.

Who will be the focus?

Okay, so we know already that season three of the series will follow Penelope, aka Lady Whistledown (Nicola Coughlan), and Colin Bridgerton’s (Luke Newton) romance. Eeeekkkk!!

As far as the storyline goes, we will see Peneploe finally giving up on her long-held crush on Colin Bridgerton after hearing his disparaging words about her last season, however, she has decided it’s time to find herself a husband.

Meanwhile, Colin has returned home from his travels and is disheartened to see that Penelope is giving him the cold shoulder. Eager to win her friendship back, he offers to mentor her and help her become more confident in order to find a husband.

Of course, lessons start working a little too well and certain feelings begin to develop. Hmmm, interesting.

Then, among all that we have the rift between Penelope and Eloise (Claudia Jessie), making it all the more difficult to keep Lady Whistledown’s alter ego a secret.

Will Eloise expose her? Only time will tell…

Who Are The New Cast Members?

So far there have been three new cast members announced for the third season. Daniel Francis (Stay Close), who will play Marc Anderson, a charismatic presence who lights up any room he enters.

Sam Phillips (The Crown) plays Lord Debling, a genial lord with unusual interests; but with wealth and a noble title to back up his eccentricities.

And finally, James Phoon (Wreck) will play Harry Dankworth – a man who lacks in wit and intelligence but makes up with good looks.

It was also announced earlier this year, that Ruby Stokes who played Francesca Bridgerton will be leaving the show and Hannah Dodd (Anatomy of a Scandal) will be stepping into her shoes.

Is Regé-Jean Page Returning?

Fans, including ourselves, were absolutely devasted to learn that Regé-Jean Page, would not be returning after season 1, so when rumours started spiralling, about a possible sighting of the Duke of Hastings for the third instalment, people might have gotten a bit carried away.

Sdaly once again the actor confirmed that he will not be returning. Sharing in an Instagram post, “the papers made that one up,” referring to the speculation.

Look, a girl can dream!

When Will Season 3 Come Out?

Although we haven’t got an official release date as of yet, we do know that it’s in production. If you take the last season into consideration, it came out over a year after season 1, but given that production was slowed by the pandemic, it’s possible the creative team might hasten season 3’s development.

If that’s the case, we could be looking at a spring/summer 2023 debut date for the next chapter.

Either way, we’ll be here patiently, or impatiently waiting should we say!!
