We’ve had Bridgerton and Queen Charlotte now there’s a brand new royal-esque show on the way, the only difference being they’re American not English. Think Americans crashing a post Bridgerton era ball.

As we patiently await the third instalment of the ever popular period romance, this brand new show on Apple TV+ should keep us all entertained.

The Buccaneers is premiering on Apple TV+ with the first three episodes on November 8 2023 with a new episode dropping  weekly until December 13.

The series synopsis reads: “Girls with money, men with power. New money, old secrets.

“A group of fun-loving young American girls explode into the tightly corseted London season of the 1870s, kicking off an Anglo-American culture clash as the land of the stiff upper lip is infiltrated by a refreshing disregard for centuries of tradition. Sent to secure husbands and titles, the buccaneers’ hearts are set on much more than that, and saying ‘I do’ is just the beginning….”

The Buccaneers is also based on a book just like Bridgerton. The series was inspired by the late Edith Wharton’s unfinished novel, The Buccaneers, which was released in 1938 following her death the previous year.

Emmy Award winning actress Christina Hendricks will star alongside a number of well known names including Kristine Froseth (The Society) and Alisha Boe (13 Reasons Why) as well as some up and comers like Josie Totah, Aubri Ibrag, Imogen Waterhouse, Mia Threapleton, Josh Dylan, Guy Remmers, Matthew Broome and Barney Fishwick.

We’re excited to jump into a new era of corset ripping romance!
