The entire nation tuned in to watch Ireland take-on current champions South Africa in the rugby world cup last night, and Greg O’Shea was no different.

But it was certainly a bit more tense for the former rugby star, as his new girlfriend, Jeanni Mulder, is South African and was backing the Springboks.

Naturally Ireland’s victory was cause for celebration, and the Limerick native couldn’t help but poke fun at his girlfriend. Sharing a video on Instagram, The Six O’Clock show presenter waved goodbye to Jeanni as she left the pub they were watching the match in, following South Africa’s defeat. Saying: “Goodbye. Gowan, out of here! See ya later bud! Good luck!”

He also shared a snap of the pair in opposing jerseys.

The couple confirmed their relationship earlier this month.

The 29-year-old posted a video of him and his new girlfriend taking part in, what many would consider the ultimate adrenaline rush, while on holiday.

Jeanni works as a model and while she hails from the beautiful country of South Africa, she is currently based in Dublin.

The pair enjoyed a romantic trip to Croatia together just a few weeks ago.

The Love Island winner shared a series of pictures of the pair on holiday which showed Greg enjoying a beer under the sun as well as their journey to the beach.

The pair spent a day on a boat with Greg sharing some snaps of him lounging out in the sun against crystal clear water.

“Lovely little week offline to reset the mind & body after a long stint of training and work. Hvar is absolutely class and I would 10/10 recommend to a friend!” Greg wrote on Instagram.

“It’s time to get back at it though. I have my biggest fitness challenge yet coming up in 3 weeks so ill probably regret the extra couple of beers but sure look, life is for living.”
