Hailo Has A Great Deal For Anyone Affected By Tomorrow’s Dublin Bus Strikes
Taxis on the cheap. We repeat, TAXIS ON THE CHEAP.
Dublin’s transport system is messy enough at the best of times. Take one massive public transport resource out of the equation and that mess quickly becomes a whole lot more difficult to navigate.
Around 400,000 commuters are expected to be affected by this week’s planned industrial action by Dublin Bus drivers. From 9pm tonight Wednesday Sept 14th, drivers will walk off the job, meaning there will be no Dublin Bus, Airlink or Nitelink services in operation until service resumes on Saturday morning.
If you’re one of the many who’ll have to get up extra early tomorrow to make an alternative route to work or battle excess traffic, Hailo have quite a generous solution. The taxi-hailing app is offering a 50 per cent discount to users on Thursday and Friday morning, between the hours of 6am and 7am, and again between 10am and noon.
Tim Arnold of Hailo Ireland said the folks at Hailo HQ made the decision after the Luas strikes earlier this year saw an unprecedented number of people using the app to get to work, school or college.
“We’re anticipating a huge surge in demand during the upcoming bus strikes, so are encouraging Hailo users to choose off-peak travel where possible,” he advised.
“We’re committed as always to getting our customers to their destinations.”
