She made a shock exit from the group overnight.

As of last night, Camila Cabello is no longer a member of Fifth Harmony, and it seems her departure was not a smooth one.

The 19-year-old confirmed to her four bandmates that she was leaving yesterday, but rather than telling them herself she broke the news via her rep just hours after the group performed together. The fivesome appeared at the Jingle Ball in Cuban-Mexican Camila’s adopted home state of Florida, and made no mention of her departure at the time.

Daily Mail shared these photos of the group on stage:

Shortly before the gig, Camila tweeted to say she was happy to be back on familiar Florida turf, and that she was already enjoying some home comforts: orange juice and platanitos.

Her social media has been silent since the announcement of her intention to leave the band came late night last night via Fifth Harmony’s social media platforms. “After four and a half years of being together, we have been informed via her representatives that Camila has decided to leave Fifth Harmony,” the statement read.

“We wish her well. You Harmonizers have been there with us since the beginning, you’ve supported us, and with your love and support, we will continue on. That being said, we are excited to announce that we will be moving forward with the four of us- Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui for our fans. We are four strong, committed women who will continue with Fifth Harmony as well as our solo endeavours.

“We are excited for our future, and we can’t wait for what the new year brings. Harmonizers, we are in this together. We love you with all of our heart.”

The news comes just days after the band was rocked by allegations Lauren Jauregui had attempted to bring marijuana onto a flight from Atlanta to Brazil. The 20-year-old was stopped at the airport and forbidden from boarding her plane, meaning she missed a planned Fifth Harmony tour date in the South American country. Lauren later took to social media to apologise to the band’s Brazilian fans, and also to clarify that she had been given a warning and a citation, and had not been arrested as many outlets reported.

The singer called reports of the incident “sensationalised media” and added, “Aleppo deserves this news coverage.”

Could Lauren’s legal trouble and Camila’s departure spell the end for 5H? Well, we’ll always have Sledgehammer…
