Each tone has undertones which make certain colours pop in the same way that clothes look different depending on whether you have sallow olive or pale skin.

Cool Undertones

Many think that if their skin is on the paler side that they’ve got cool toned skin, when in actual fact it has nothing to do with the colour of your skin but the undertones.

Most cool toned people have a pink, red or blue-ish hue to their skin. You can also tell your tone from the shade of the veins in your wrist. If they’re visibly blue and silver jewellery suits you over gold then you’ve got cool toned skin.

When it comes to lipstick shades, cool toned gals will need to look towards blue and purple undertone lipsticks – but we don’t mean you to sport bright blue lipstick on your next night out!

When we say blue and purple undertones, we mean red shades that have a blue tone instead of an orange one, or nudes with a purple undertone as opposed to a pink or brown one.

Warm Undertones

Most people with warm-toned skin will have a yellow or golden hue to it. Your veins in your wrist will appear more on the green side than blue and if gold jewellery is more complimentary on you than other shades.
