Lewis Capaldi Is Back – & He’s Dropped New Music

"I’ve had my share of Monday mornings when I can’t get up”

Lewis Capaldi chose to step back out of the public eye in 2023.

His final public appearance was at Glastonbury that summer that ended with the crowd helping him sing his songs as he struggled through a difficult period in his career.

He confirmed that he would be taking some time away from the spotlight, pulling out of Electric Picnic which he was due to headline.

Now he has returned with new music which reflects on this time of his life.

Lewis dropped his new track, Survive, early on Friday morning to the surprise of fans.

“Most nights I fear that I’m not enough, I’ve had my share of Monday mornings when I can’t get up” he sings in a brutally honest track that addresses mental health challenges of self-doubt and despair.

But comes out swinging in a chorus full of defiance: “I swear to God I’ll survive, if it kills me to, I’m gonna’ get up and try, if it’s the last thing I’ll do.”

The new track arrives off the back of a run of Scottish warm-up shows in May that saw Lewis return to the stage as a guest of mental health charity CALM, in celebration of Mental Health Awareness Week.

With no pressure, and no level of expectation, the shows allowed him the space to gauge his comfort and emotional response before returning to the spotlight.

We’re so delighted that he’s back and feeling better than ever!
