Meet The Laois Man Hoping For Romance On Love Island Australia
He claims he is not like other guys…
It seems that the Emerald Isle is being very well represented in the Love Island games this year. With Maura and Greg stealing the show on the Uk version, and an Ennis lad getting his foot in the door on the US show, we can now confirm that another Irish native will be searching for love in the Australian villa this year.
Say hello to Eoghan Murphy, the 23-year-old Laois native heading into the Love Island villa for this year’s Australian version of the hit show.
Eoghan, who could be mistaken for a Ben Foden look-a-like, grew up in Portlaoise, Co. Laois, before moving to Australia back in 2006. He now works in real estate on the Gold Coast but is putting his job on pause as he prepares to find the lady of his dreams in the Love Island villa.
Claiming that he is ‘not like other guys’ (we’ve heard that one before), the show has introduced us to Eoghan ahead of the show’s premiere in a recent trailer, where he said:
“My values are a lot more old school than what are floating around today. I was raised by a single mum.”
“I treat women the right way.”
Fair play to ya, Eoghan.

Revealing that he has been in relationships since he was 14 years old, he recently told WHO magazine that he is ready for yet another relationship, because being single is just not his thing.
“I was in a relationship pretty much my entire life. I enjoy being in a relationship. I want a companion. All my mates have girlfriends and I’m the one on my own. I want a girl. I want someone I can spend the rest of my life with.”
Keen to squash any preconceived perceptions of him, the 23-year-old also said that despite his ‘bad boy’ image he is actually a good guy.
“A lot of girls do look at me and think I’m a player but I’m truthful, I’m honest and I’m loyal.”
Watch out Georgia Steel, you have competition.
A deep dive of his Instagram does not reveal too much of his personality (we smell a delete spree). So, it looks like we will have to wait until the show airs to find out just how loyal this Ben Foden doppelganger is.
It is yet to be confirmed if Irish Viewers will be able to watch how Eoghan’s Love Island journey, but rumour has it that Virgin Media will be airing the show again this year, so we may just be in luck!
The show kicks off next Monday.
