Meghan Markle Is Guest Editor For Vogue’s September Issue With Sinead Burke On The Cover
Fifteen brilliant female changemakers grace the cover.
Meghan Markle has added another role to her impressive CV, she’s already an actress and a duchess among many other things and now she’s an editor too.
Over the weekend, the royal family officially confirmed the news that Meghan would be taking on the role of guest editor for Vogue’s September issue after some speculation.
The 37-year-old is the first person to guest edit the September issue, which is considered the most important edition of the magazine.
Prince Harry was also involved in the magazine, out August 2nd.
Meghan interviewed Michelle Obama, while her husband did an interview with primatologist, Dr Jane Goodall.
Speaking about the opportunity, Meghan said: “Guest Editing the September issue of British Vogue has been rewarding, educational and inspiring. To deep dive into this process, working quietly behind the scenes for so many months, I am happy to now be able to share what we have created.
She added: “A huge thanks to all of the friends who supported me in this endeavour, lending their time and energy to help within these pages and on the cover. Thank you for saying “Yes!” – and to Edward, thank you for this wonderful opportunity.”
The cover features 15 “brilliant female changemakers who have had a laudable impact in recent times and who are set to reshape society in radical and positive ways in the future”.
Irish activist Sinead Burke graces the cover for her work on diversity in the fashion industry and beyond.
She is featured alongside actresses Gemma Chan and Laverne Cox and Yara Shahidi. As well as model Adwoa Aboah, The Good Place actress and body positivity advocate Jameela Jamil, author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, model and refugee Adut Akech, boxer Ramla Ali, and actresses Jane Fonda and Salma Hayek Pinault.
Teen environmental activist Greta Thunberg is also on the cover alongside Cats star Francesca Hayward and supermodel Christy Turlington Burns.
