Nicola Coughlan Just Landed A Major Role In Upcoming Movie

The Bridgerton and Derry Girls star has announced some very exciting movie news on Instagram.

Posting a screenshot of a Variety article the Galway native wrote, “News!! Making a movie with two of the biggest babes in the world and I couldn’t be more excited!!!#SeizeThem.”

The actress will star alongside Sex Education star Aimee Lou Wood and actress and comedian Lolly Adefope in a new historical comedy titled Seize Them.

Laura Whitmore shared her love in the comments, saying, “Wonderful!”

Nicola is really on a roll these days with two uber-successful shows including Bridgerton on Netflix and Derry Girls on Channel 4. Both shows have new seasons coming up very soon!

Although all the success still feels new to the star, she recently opened up about the hard time she had financially before landing her first big role in Derry Girls.

Speaking with the RTÉ Guide she said; “The fear of having nothing is still there. [Before Derry Girls] I was in debt with student loans, I was working minimum wage and the rent was so high.”

Continuing she added; “I only got Derry Girls five years ago so it’s not that long since I’ve been able to go and buy a coffee and not have a panic attack.”

“So, I reckon I’ll have a few more years of thinking ‘I hope I have some money in my bank account” and that it keeps her grounded; “You know what it’s like not to have all those things and you know how hard you’ve worked to get there.”

“For me to even be on a set is a privilege, to get an audition is a privilege because for years I couldn’t even get in an audition room,” she added.

Season two of Bridgerton premieres this Friday on Netflix and we cannot wait to see Nicola on our screens.
