No, Harry Styles Is Not Playing Prince Eric In The Little Mermaid
A number of outlets incorrectly confirmed he was on board.
After a rollercoaster of seemingly confirmed reports, Harry Styles will not be playing Prince Eric in the Little Mermaid live-action remake.
Back in July, it was reported that Harry was in talks to play Ariel’s love interest in the remake.
This week, some outlets confirmed that the former One Direction star was officially playing the part.
However, a source close to the Disney project has now revealed he turned down the part.
“While [Harry] is a fan of the project he has respectfully declined the offer,” the source told E News!
There have been numerous reports about casting so far.
While Halle Bailey has been confirmed as Ariel, all the other names are merely rumours at this point.
Room’s Jacob Tremblay is reportedly set to play Flounder, Ocean’s 8’s Awkwafina is said to be playing Scuttle, while Melissa McCarthy is rumoured to be playing Ursula.
We’re very intrigued to see who will play the part of Prince Eric.
