Normal People To Return For A Two-Part Special Tomorrow Night

Daisy and Connell are set to be back on our screens, but not as you know them!

We’re cancelling all our plans, not that we really had any. But Normal People is coming back for a two-part special tomorrow night and it’s certainly one you won’t want to miss.

Daisy Edgar-Jones and Paul Mescal alongside director Lenny Abrahamson are back to bring you a double special all in aid of Comic Relief.

Airing tomorrow night on RTÉ One for RTÉ Does Comic Relief, the special will be part of a massive lineup from the Irish broadcaster which will air over the course of three and a half hours, taking a break at 9pm for the news.

Unlike the show however, these specials will look at life for Marianne and Connell 40 years later. Seeing what the characters ended up doing and what kind of life they ended up living, fans who felt like the show left them with a lot of answers will hopefully be left satisfied as we fast forward to watch Marianne and Connell’s future unfold.

Speaking on RTÉ Radio 1, Director Lenny said: “There’s a beautiful piece called Normal Older People, which is imagining what would have happened to Marianne and Connell 40 years from now.

“It’s so much better than anything we’ve ever made. I mean I can’t even say all about it because there’s a guest star in it. But it’s really, it’s really beautiful.

“One of the things about Comic Relief is it just gives opportunities for things to happen that would never happen. I can’t imagine any context in which they would have allowed this little sort of extra special into the world of Normal People.”

I mean, if that doesn’t have you feeling excited, I don’t know what to say!

Normal People special will as part of RTÉ Does Comic Relief on RTÉ One tomorrow night from 8:30pm.
