Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Are Expecting Their First Child

Royal couple Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have announced that they are expecting their first baby.

The pregnancy news comes five months after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex tied the knot in May at St George’s Chapel.

Kensington Palace shared the wonderful news on Instagram that Meghan is pregnant, and their baby is due in spring next year.

Alongside a photo of the couple, Kensington Palace wrote:

“Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”

A spokesperson for the Palace said that Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland is “very happy about the lovely news and she looks forward to welcoming her first grandchild”.

The news won’t come as a shock to many as there has been plenty of speculation that Meghan was pregnant for weeks before the big announcement. Everyone had their reasons for thinking the Duchess was pregnant, from haircuts to dress colours, however what really got people talking was her choice of outfit for Princess Eugenie’s wedding on Friday.

Meghan arrived at the wedding in a navy blue outfit by Givenchy, but kept a loose, long coat in the whole time despite it being quite a nice day. Now we know why, obviously – to cover the little royal baby bump!

On Monday, the couple arrived into Sydney for the start of a 16-day royal tour to Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand. It is their first official overseas visit since they visited Ireland in May.
