Rest In Peace, Actor Willie Garson Passes Away Aged 57

Garson was famously known for portraying Stanford Blanch in HBO's Sex And The City.

Willie Garson has passed away aged 57 after an ongoing battle with cancer.

His son, Nathen confirmed the news online, leading the tributes to his late father by writing:

‘I will always love you, but I think it’s time for you to go on an adventure of your own, you’ll always be with me…’

HBO, the company behind SATC, and soon to be its reboot “And Just Like That” also paid their condolences, by saying:

“Willie Garson was in life, as on screen, a devoted friend and a bright light for everyone in his universe.”

Continuing, they added that after 25 years in the HBO family, it was heartbreaking to see him go.

“We are deeply saddened to learn of his passing and extend our sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.”

Before his passing, Garson was hard at work filming for the SATC reboot. The star was last pictured on set with Sarah Jessica Parker on July 24th in New York City, where the pair looked in good spirits.

Cynthia Nixon, who plays Miranda on SATC, was one of the first leading ladies of the show to pay her tributes, calling him a “source of light, friendship and show business lore.”

Many tributes have continued to pour in for Willie, showing just how greatly loved he was in his industry and by his friends and family. May he RIP.
