So Dua Lipa And Rita Ora’s Grandads Were Friends In The 60s

There's photo evidence

Fans of Rita Ora and Dua Lipa are currently losing it, as a photograph showing the pair’s grandfathers as friends has been unearthed.

The picture, which has since gone viral, was shared on Instagram by Dua’s Dad, Dukagjin Lipa back in 2019. It shows the two men sitting at a table enjoying a drink together. Dukagjin captioned the snap:

“My dad, Seit Lipa and Mr. Besim Sahatciu. Grandfathers of @dualipa and @ritaora having a drink in 1960s city of Peja #grandfathers #friends”

While both singers are of Albanian descent, the picture was likely taken in their hometown of Peja. As it turns out, Dua’s grandad worked as a historian, while Rita’s grandfather was a TV and theatre director.

With careers that seem worlds apart, people immediately began wondering how the two would meet. However, one Twitter user cleared that up, saying:

“Their grandfathers are both from Peja, a city that in the 60s had around 65k population, and both of them were successful enough to know each other”

Hmm, interesting. *New obsession unlocked*.
