So This Is How Much *More* Sarah Jessica Parker Earned Than Her SATC Co-Stars
Spoiler alert: it's a LOT.

I don’t know about you, but I’m certainly not over the Sex and the City news, or should I say the And Just Like That news. Of course, we’re all gonna miss Samantha (how could we not?) but still, the excitement is almost too much.
After SATC stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis officially confirmed the news on Instagram, with SJP sharing a video teasing the new show with the caption: “I couldn’t help but wonder… where are they now.” We then learned that the leading ladies are set to make a killing for each episode.
Although, as it turns out, SJP (or the ever so questionable Carrie) made a lot more than Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis and Kim Cattrall in the original series. And when we say a lot, we mean a lot. So, let’s break it down, shall we?
Sarah Jessica Parker
During the Sex and the City years, SJP reportedly made up to $3.2 million per episode and according to Variety, she’ll be making “over $1 million per episode” for And Just Like That. Which is basically the same as Cynthia and Kristin.
But for SATC, according to Celebrity Net Worth, she earned around $50 million for the first three seasons of SATC and once she became a producer, the numbers kept rolling. For seasons four to six, she was reportedly making $3.2 million per episode.
And let’s not forget the films: SJP also got $15 million for the first Sex and the City film, and $20 million for the questionable Sex and the City 2. One word: Wow.

Kim Cattrall
We all know that Kim isn’t making an appearance in the reboot, sob. So she obviously won’t be making any money from it, but in SATC she was the second-highest-paid after Carrie. Reportedly, Kim was paid $350,000 per episode during the SATC peak, and $7 million for the first film and $10 million for the second. A whole lot less than SJP, which is seemingly one of the reasons behind her refusal to partake in a third film, and presumably the new reboot.
Back in 2004, Kim told Jonathan Ross that she had asked for a raise if they were to continue with the show, of up to $1 million per episode, saying “I felt after six years it was time for all of us to participate in the financial windfall of Sex and the City. When they didn’t seem keen on that, I thought it was time to move on.”

Kristin Davis
While Kristin is set to make around $10 million for the new series, according to Celebrity Net Worth, Kristin Davis was taking home the same amount as Kim Cattrall for SATC, at $350,000.
As for the films, Kristen took home *only* $2 million for the first, and doubled it to $4 million for the second. In comparison to SJP’s salary, it’s a bit wild.

Cynthia Nixon
Weirdly, as there’s plenty of information of the other gal’s SATC salaries, there’s little to nothing about how much Cynthia Nixon took in for her time as the beloved Miranda. She’ll be raking in €1 mill per episode of And Just Like That, but we’re kind of presuming that she took home in or around the same amount as Kristin Davis for SATC.

So, why was SJP paid so much more than the other three leading ladies? Well, speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, producer/writer Michael Patrick King said “The show doesn’t exist if Sarah Jessica wasn’t the blond star of the show, that’s No. 1. Kim was not at the height of her career, Kristin was under her in terms of notability, Cynthia was a theatre actress—and their contracts reflected that status.”
There we have it.
