“That’s Low And Desperate”: Katy Perry Is Facing “Homophobic” Backlash Over Her Latest Single

Fans say the collaboration contradicts her previous support of the LGBT community.

Katy Perry is collaborating with controversial rap group, Migos, on her new single Bon Appétit, and people are so upset about it.

The band recently made headlines for refusing to support rapper, iLoveMakonnen, when he came out as gay, as well as for making homophobic comments about the gay community.

The group said that the rapper’s coming out was an example of “the world being f*cked up” and that, “this world is not right.” The trio hastily added, “We ain’t saying it’s nothing wrong with the gays,” but the damage was already done.

Fans of Katy Perry are disappointed that she’s decided to collaborate with Migos, especially given her pro-LGBT stance. She recently gave a speech at the Human Rights Campaign Gala where she described the LGBT community as the “most free, strong, kind, and inclusive people.” Fans believe her collaboration with Migos contradicts that.

One person took to Twitter to vent their feelings, saying, “Katy’s #BonApetit is really good but she ruined it with Migos. You’re woke but collab with homophobic rappers? thats low&desperate for charts.” And other fans quickly followed suit…

Do you think Katy was wrong to work with Migos? Or should her music career and political viewpoints be kept separate?
