The Release Date For Queer Eye Season 5 Has Finally Been Confirmed
Here's what we can expect from the fab five
Good news for fans of the fab five! The release date for Queer Eye season five has finally been announced, and what’s better? We don’t have too long of a wait!
If you’re anything like us, you’ll have trawled your way through pretty much everything Netflix has to offer at this point, and those new books sitting your shelf waiting to be read are dwindling fast too, so it’s about time we had some newness to look forward to.
The show will be dropping on Netflix on the 5th of June, and this time around the boys will be making over the people of Philadelphia, with us having 10 new episodes to look forward to.
For anyone unfamiliar with the show, it follows the premise of a make-over show – but on steroids. It follows the journeys of a group of best friends, Bobby, Tan, Antoni, Johnathan, and Karamo as they embark on changing the lives of well-deserving people for good. Sprucing up each candidate’s entire lives, from interior to culture, each member uses their own unique skill to help others.
Confirming the news on Instagram, Antoni shared a hilarious gif with the release date on it.
Later speaking withย Entertainment Weeklyย he also gave us a little idea of what we can expect from the new season.
“With Philadelphia, it’s a lot more cosmopolitan than the outskirts of Atlanta – even though we filmed in Atlanta, and we were really along the periphery in Kansas City as well.”
“With Philly, we do have a lot more downtown stories and you kind of get to speak to that experience” he continued.
Revealing that we can expect to see stuff we haven’t seen before in the new season he said:
“With cities like that (Philadelphia), there’s always an incredible amount of diversity, so there are very different stories and perspectives not only culturally but also age-wise.”
If the previous Japan season is anything to go by, it looks like we’re in for a real treat.
Roll on June 5th.
