The Sydney Rose Posted The Best Thank-You Tweet After Her #Repeal Speech Last Night
Twitter fell in love with Brianna Parkins.
The first night of the Rose Of Tralee‘s televised finals last night was one of the most eventful nights of Irish TV we’ve had in a long while.
There was the Fathers For Justice protester who stormed the stage during the Cavan Rose’s appearance…

And then, of course, there was the Sydney Rose Brianna Parkins, who used her three minutes of airtime to raise attention for Ireland’s Repeal The Eighth campaign.
After talking a bit about domestic violence charities and other women’s issues in Australia, Brianna told Daithí that she felt Ireland had some big changes to make to support its female citizens.
“I think it’s time to give women a say over their reproductive rights. I would love to see a referendum on the eighth amendment come up soon. That would be my dream,” she said, to applause from the audience.

Needless to say, Twitter exploded after Brianna’s speech, with many speaking out in support of her decision to speak out on air – or just expressing their love for her:

I want to be friends with the #SydneyRose and go to protest marches with her and have her hold my hair back after too much wine.

As for Brianna, she took to social media before heading to bed last night, thanking everyone for the positive messages and posing in a very cool #Repeal t-shirt.

Amazing. This gal might not be the 2016 winner, but we reckon we’re going to see a lot more of her on Irish shores.
