Who Is Sammy Root? Love Island’s New Bombshell

STELLAR PROMOTION: We're... rooting... for him

Another day, another bombshell in our midst – this time it’s Sammy Root, who you may recognise from season 10.

Sammy entered the Love Island villa in 2023 and eventually went on to win the entire series (to everyone’s surprise) alongside Jess Harding

The pair later split up just two months after leaving the villa, a decision that apparently left Sammy completely blindsided.

He later told The Sun that he saw a future with Jess, “To be totally clear – I at least wanted a face-to-face conversation to see if our relationship could be saved and felt this would be a respectful way forward.”

Ouch.

Last year, Sammy had a stint on TOWIE, where he enjoyed a bit of a flirt with fellow All Stars islander Elma, so there’s every chance they’ll want to rekindle that romance.

And listen, Elma deserves it, okay? She’s had enough to deal with in that villa.

“For the people I have met before, I’m excited to see them again, but who knows – it could be fun or it might be awkward,” he said.

He went on: “Previously I put a lot on looks whereas now I think it’s more important to focus on personality. I just want someone that’s outgoing, adventurous, happy and just a jolly person that I can have fun with.”

He added that he’s looking for a girl who’s fun: “I’m not a fan of uptight people, I want someone who doesn’t care about what others think and just wants to have fun.”

Let’s hope Sammy adds some much needed spice to the villa, anyway.
