“You” Season 4 Just Began Filming In London; Here’s Everything We Know About The 4th Season

So is Joe going to say, "ello...you" now?

Netflix’s hit show You is known for it’s shocking plot twists and mysteries (well…that and creepy stalkers.) But it seems season four is already starting off with a massive surprise. Well, at least according to You’s social media accounts.

Quick recap of season three’s ending; Joe kills Love and fakes his death, before travelling to Paris looking for Marienne, who now knows the truth about him. With the final scene being Joe walking the streets of the French capital.

So given this ending, fans obviously thought the show would be taking place in Paris…but no that’s far too straight forward for You. In a plot twist that has happened before the show even aired, season four will take place in London.

Netflix’s official social media accounts shared a photo of  Penn Badgley, who plays Joe Goldberg, filming in London. Captioning the photo with, “Watch your back… Joe is in the UK! 🔪 YOU Season 4 is now filming in London.” With the show’s social media accounts sharing similar posts.

Another clue was in the show’s IG bio. It says, ” NY ✈️ LA ✈️ ML ✈️ FR ✈️ ??” With the first season taking place in New York, the second in Los Angeles, the third in Madre Linda, and the final scene of the third in France. So it would add up that London could be Joe’s next stop.

And that’s not the only evidence as some British stars have been cast in the show.

Former EastEnders’ star Tilly Keeper has been cast as Lady Phoebe, a tabloid fixture and London socialite. According to Netflix’s Press release, “Phoebe’s true colors show when she’s alone with her friends. She’s a steadfast cheerleader, especially to her American entrepreneur boyfriend, Adam. She’s also a wild card: when misfortune strikes, will she rise to the occasion or shatter?”

And playing Adam is Euphoria actor, Lukas Gage.

Also joining the cast is Ackley Bridge’s Amy Leigh Hickman. Amy will be playing Nadia, an aspiring author and literature student whose, “outspokenness and intensity are the perfect cover for the insecurities carried by a young woman who’s never been accepted by her peer group. She’s made some big mistakes; now, they threaten to destroy her life. She’ll need help, even if it’s from the wrong people.”

Joining the cast alongside them, is Ed Speleers, of Downton Abbey fame. Ed will portray Rhys, a successful author who is now stepping into politics. He is described as someone who “lived a traumatic early life before he came into money, going to Oxford and making all the right friends. Now, he moves easily in any social circle while also seeing through those around him. He doesn’t have much time for partying, though he enjoys staying in touch with his eccentric circle of friends. After all, they were there for him in his troubled youth.”

But with all these new character’s joining the show, where does that leave Marienne, who was played by Tati Gabrielle?

 

Well, Tati has signed on for season four, and is maintaining her main role status, but thing seem to be a bit complicated. Also joining the show is Charlotte Ritchie, who will play Kate, Joe’s love interest this season.

So where does that leave Marienne? If Joe has moved on, is she safe now? But if Joe couldn’t find her, why would she be appearing in the show?

There are obviously a lot of questions we need answers to, but unless You’s social media drop more hints we’re just going to have to wait until season four is released.
