MAC Are Changing Their Brush Collection Entirely

What do you think of this major change?

MAC Cosmetics, the old reliable, has survived through the makeup revolution of new products entering the market over the last few years.

With new brands coming and going, one thing MAC seem to hold the title for is brushes, specifically their eye brushes.

However, MAC have appear to have contradicted the sacred “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” saying, announcing that they will be revamping their entire brush collection, making the change from natural, animal hair brushes to completely synthetic.

Global senior artist for MAC Dominic Skinner made the announcement via his Instagram, stating that although he was apprehensive about the change (which we can imagine most people are), he stands by the fact that MAC still have the best brushes.

To #Synthetic or not to Synthetic? ⭐️So #MAC #MakeupBrushes are becoming 100% Synthetic with all current #MACBrushes converting to Man Made fibre and #NEW #MACMakeupBrushes being added to the line up ⭐️I promise I was very doubtful over then as I #LOVE my current MAC #Brushes, but I have been converted too ⭐️They are just as soft and in many cases, softer. And to prove it, here are some comparisons⭐️LtoR: #138s Vs #138, #129s Vs #129, #224s Vs #224, #221s Vs #221 & #228s Vs #228 ⭐️The best thing I've found is the #NEW #MakeupBrushes keep their shape better⭐️Fear not! The quality is still the same if not better!!⭐️#MUA #MACSeniorArtist #MakeupArtist #MakeupAddict #MakeupTrend #Trend #MACCosmetics #MACAddict #Love #LoveMakeup #Makeup @maccosmeticsuk @maccosmetics

In his post, Dominic shows us a comparison of some of our old favourites next to their new versions. The new brushes will have an “S” beside their individual numbers and will be made with 100 per cent synthetic hair.

So what’s the difference between natural hair and synthetic hair brushes? Well, synthetic is known for being better when working with liquid and cream products because they absorb less product. However, natural hair tends to be softer and work better with powder products.

We’ll just have to put these new brushes to the test! What do you think of the change?
