Demi Lovato is looking happy and healthy in her first Instagram post since leaving rehab. Yay Demi!

The singer was hospitalised in July for an overdose, and in a statement to her fans said she was taking time to “heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery”.

Demi finished a stint in rehab earlier this month, and came back to Instagram last night to encourage her followers to vote in the US midterm elections:

A very poignant note to return on. Welcome back, Demi!

Meanwhile, Beyoncé bowled in with last minute support for Texas Democratic candidate Beto O’Rourke (of the Leitrim O’Rourkes. No, really).

Wearing a Beto For Senate hat, she told her 119m followers to get out there and vote:

I’m feeling grateful for everyone before me who fought so hard to give us all the right to have a voice. We can’t voice or frustrations and complain about what’s wrong without voting and exercising our power to make it right… Every vote counts. Every race matters. Everywhere.

Beto ended up narrowly losing to Republican senator Ted Cruz (who you may remember as the subject of many, many memes), but the result is still being hailed as a sign that Texas is no longer a Republican stronghold. Hup!

Rebel Wilson has apologised for claiming she was the first plus size woman to front a rom com… and blocking anyone who tried to correct her on that.

This is a big old mess, but basically, Rebel appeared on The Ellen Show on Halloween to promote her new film Isn’t It Romantic, and said she was “the first ever plus-sized girl to be the star of a romantic comedy”.

People immediately pointed out that Queen Latifah had the rom com market pretty sewn up in the 2000s – other plus size actresses who have played the lead in romantic comedies include Ricki Lake, Melissa McCarthy, and Mo’Nique.

Rebel’s initial response on Twitter was to question whether those actresses “were plus size when filming those movies”, which Mo’Nique herself took issue with:

Rebel apologised for the remarks, and for blocking numerous people who responded negatively to them, saying: “I blocked people on Twitter because I was hurting from the criticism, but those are the people I actually need to hear from more, not less.”
