The Best Cruelty Free Beauty Brands To Try This Animal Rights Awareness Week
Show some love for the animals this Summer!
Animal Right Awareness Week is not spoken about nearly enough, and it takes place the third week of June every year! The week raises awareness about animal welfare and how to best protect and respect animals.
Each year, it’s observed to raise public awareness about global animal rights issues and speak up for animals that humans have exploited for millennia. In honour of this week, we’ve put together a list of some of our fav affordable makeup brands you can buy in Ireland, that are completely cruelty free!

But first – something to remember when you go shopping: Look out for the PETA logo. The cruelty-free certification is designated for companies that have signed a statement of assurance verifying that they and their suppliers do not conduct, commission, or pay for any tests on animals for their ingredients, formulations, or finished products anywhere in the world and that they pledge not do so in the future. This cruelty-free and vegan certification is designated for companies that meet the same requirements, plus their entire product line must be free of animal-derived ingredients.
You should also make sure to be careful of misleading labels. If a product claims to be ‘not tested on animals’, this doesn’t necessarily mean it’s completely cruelty-free. If you’re unsure of a company testing on animals you can double check here.

Carter Beauty by Marissa Carter is a Peta-Approved member of Beauty Without Bunnies, meaning they’re completely cruelty-free and don’t test any of their products on animals. Yay!

2. Sculpted by Aimee
Aimee Connolly is one of Ireland’s leading MUA’s, meaning she is well aware of what’s good when it comes to makeup. All of her products are 100% cruelty free as well as paraban free.
She is also working towards becoming a fully vegan brand in the future. Aside from their website, you can buy the products in store at their Dublin location on Grafton Street!
3. E.L.F Cosmetics
E.L.F cosmetics has always been very committed to being completely vegan as well as cruelty free. They only ever use animal-free materials, including their brushes which are 100 percent synthetic. Animal hair is never used.

Probably the best known for being cruelty free, if you remember the ‘fighting animal testing’ tote bags that were everywhere not so long ago, then you will know that Lush is one of the best and most passionate cruelty free brands.
“At Lush, we define cruelty-free as only using vegetarian ingredients and adhering to a strict anti-animal testing policy,” they say. “We never test our finished products on animals and won’t buy ingredients from suppliers who conduct or commission animal tests either.”
