Kristin Cavallari Reveals She Will ‘Always Love Stephen’ While Discussing That Reunion Snap

In August, Kristin posted a photo with Stephen on Instagram, bringing everyone right back to 2005.

2020 has been an unpredictable year for most, and Kristin is no exception.

From her split with husband, Jay Cutler to lockdown with her children, returning to the dating pool and then, hitting a personal record for her Instagram post with ex, Stephen Colletti, 2020 has certainly been a wild ride for Kristin and it’s not even over yet.

While her divorce with Jay Cutler after seven years of marriage came as a shock to fans, a photo of the Laguna Beach star sitting on the lap of Stephen Colletti – a mere few months later almost trumped fans disbelief, as speculation mounted that the TV sweethearts were dating again.

Obviously, rumours ran wild and fans cheered at the potential courtship, 15 years on; but alas, it’s just a reunion shot, as Kristin admitted that although she still loves him, they’re just friends.

Speaking about the photo in question, Kristin chatted with Brett Gursky on the “On the List” podcast saying:

“I mean, I think it’s really neat that people are still so invested, and it really takes people back to that time. And then of course everyone was like, ‘Oh, my God, are they back together?’ I love Stephen, I’ve always loved Stephen, and clearly, you know, 15 years later we’re still really good friends. But no, I brought my kids to Laguna Beach, I saw a lot of people, I didn’t just see Stephen! It was a really fun trip, but that’s all there is to it.”

Continuing, Kristin admitted that she met up with a lot of her old cast mates on that trip to Laguna, where they “played a drinking game, answered fan questions and just kind of reminisced about the show and everything.”

Laughing about the reaction to the photo, Kristin also noted that her snap with Stephen was also a personal record garnering more likes than any photo ever for her…. even of her kids.

But when it comes to dating, it looks like we won’t see any more cosy photos with Stephen, explaining that a solid relationship is more important to her than dating, Kristin admitted that she’d like to have the good aspects of what she had with Jay, however, with someone new.

“I actually prefer what I had with Jay, where you’re so comfortable with somebody, they’re your best friend. It’s so easy and great, that’s way more interesting to me than those new little butterflies.”

Well, we’ve no doubt she’ll find that special someone sometime soon.
