Ouch! Calvin Harris Says This Is Why Things Ended So Badly With Taylor Swift

It’s been over three months now since Calvin Harris and Taylor Swift confirmed their split, and Calvin’s hoping the drama is finally over.

After first presenting a united, amicable front to the world and publicly ending things on Twitter with “a huge amount of love and respect,” things went quickly downhill when a tit-for-tat between Taylor’s people and Calvin’s resulted in an all out social media war for the two former lovebirds.

Now, Calvin’s finally speaking out about the relationship – and it’s messy end – and he admits things had to draw to a close for him and Taylor.

“For both of us it was the wrong situation,” he explains to GQ. “It clearly wasn’t right, so it ended, but all of the stuff that happened afterwards…”

In case you don’t recall, “all of the stuff” includes Taylor’s camp suggesting the break-up happened because Calvin didn’t credit her for her lyrical work on This Is What You Came For, Calvin blasting his ex on Twitter, and everyone from Katy Perry to Selena Gomez jumping in to have their say. Oh, and in the middle of it all, there was that recorded phonecall between Taylor and Kanye, which Kim Kardashian shared as proof that Taylor was a “liar.”

“The aftermath of the relationship was way more heavily publicised than the relationship itself,” Calvin continues.

“When we were together, we were very careful for it not to be a media circus. She respected my feelings in that sense. I’m not good at being a celebrity.

“But when it ended, all hell broke loose. Now I see that Twitter thing as a result of me succumbing to pressure. It took me a minute to realise that none of that matters. I’m a positive guy.”

Here’s hoping things will calm down soon for both halves of this former couple.
