Earlier this week, Willie Garson passed away aged 57 after an ongoing battle with cancer.

Garson was famously known for portraying Stanford Blanch in HBO’s Sex And The City, and soon to star on the HBO reboot series “And Just Like That”.

His son, Nathen confirmed the news online, leading the tributes to his late father by writing:

‘I will always love you, but I think it’s time for you to go on an adventure of your own, you’ll always be with me…’

Shortly after that, tributes came flooding in for the late actor, with co-stars, friends, family and fans all sharing their condolences online.

Cynthia Nixon, who plays Miranda on SATC, was one of the first leading ladies of the show to pay her tributes, calling Garson a “source of light, friendship and show business lore.”

Chris Noth, who stars as Mr Big in the show, also shared a brief word, writing: “Willie ❤️”

The photo which Chris chose to share showed a laughing Sarah Jessica Parker in character with Willie Garson as they played the iconic duo Carrie Bradshaw and Stanford Blanch.

Commenting underneath the photo, SJP wrote:

“Thank you dearest Chris. I’m not ready yet. Xxx”

This was Sarah’s first time speaking out on social media following the heartbreaking passing, and potentially the only time we might see the star publicly comment on the death, as she takes time to grieve and mourn her friend in private.

Before his passing, Garson was hard at work filming for the SATC reboot. The star was last pictured on set with Sarah Jessica Parker on July 24th in New York City, where the pair looked in good spirits.

Our thoughts are with Garson’s friends and family during this time.
