‘We’ve Never Been More Excited’ Galway Restaurant Wins Best Pizza Takeaway In Europe

Exciting news for pizzeria The Dough Bros.

A Galway hotspot that’s a favourite with tourists and locals and over lockdown, practically anyone that could get their hands on one of their sought after pizza kits, has just revealed a very big win.

The Galway restaurant has been named as the best pizza takeaway in Europe by 50 Top Pizza, which publishes guides to the best pizzerias across the world.

In the awards announcement, not only did Dough Bros win best pizza takeaway in Europe, but they were also named as the best pizzeria in Ireland, and the 27th best pizzeria overall during the awards in Milan, Italy.

Congratulating the brothers and owners via Zoom, it was a big night for the Galway team who celebrated the major win at their restaurant on Galway’s Middle St.

Having first started off as a food truck, Dough Bros has grown to become a Galway institution and now, noted as the home of the best pizzas in Ireland by 50 Top Pizza.

“The last 18 months have thrown some major curveballs but despite it all, it has been our most rewarding yet. Thank you to everyone that has helped us along the way,” the team wrote online.

“We have never been more excited or driven about the future and what lies ahead!”

The restaurant serves everything from delicious woodfired pizzas, to mouthwatering sides, drinks and of course, PLENTY of dip. Certainly one to check out if you’re in Galway.

In other news of Irish spots winning major awards, The Stella Cinema in Rathmines, Dublin 6 has won the award of best cinema in the UK and Ireland as chosen by Time Out.

Reopening in 2017, after been closed for 13 years, the cinema got a total facelift to transform it back to the way it once looked in the 1920s.

Restoring the original mosaic Stella tilling on the floor, as well as the velvet fabrics, decorative ceiling mouldings and little touches of the time, the Stella is now like going back hundreds of years in a time machine and it’s totally fabulous.
